FAQ

Of course!  Focus Goalkeeping caters to goalkeepers of all levels - from a first-time gk all the way up to college & pro.  Each goalkeeper will train with a group of peers who have a similar experience level.  All goalkeepers will be challenged appropriately, and we pride ourselves in offering coaches who specialize in young, beginner goalkeepers & teaching the foundations of the position.

Of course!  We train some of the highest level youth players in the country.  We pride ourselves in training, educating, and supporting goalkeepers of all levels.  Any goalkeeper that comes out to train will be grouped with other goalkeepers who train & play at a similar level.

As of now, no.  While 1-on-1 training with a coach can be beneficial in certain situations, we at Focus Goalkeeping believe that by training in small groups we are able to train in a more game-like environment.  If you're specifically only interested in 1-on-1 training, please contact us and we'll be able to recommend someone who does provide that option.

Often times we get this question from parents and goalkeepers.  As soon as we feel like a goalkeeper has improved enough and is ready to move up to the next level/age group, we will move them.  We are constantly evaluating all areas of each goalkeeper.  You must be able to train at a high enough level to compete with the group, and more importantly, your SERVING abilities need to be on par with that group.  If you can't consistently serve at the required level of a group, you can't train with them yet.  As a goalkeeper these days distribution is equally as important as shot stopping - so make sure you're working on this area of your game as well.

Anyone who is registered to attend a Focus GK Academy session & either -

A) Cancels within 24 hours of the session
B) Does not show up for the session -

will still be charged for the session.  You will not be allowed to register/attend another session until you have paid for the no-show/cancellation.

Camp refunds are available up to the non-refundable deposit, as stated for the selected camp, outside of 30 days.  There are NO refunds inside of 30 days due to the required payments, bills, and deposits paid by Focus Goalkeeping Academy.

• Summer Camp Deposit: $100
• Any Single-Day Camp Deposit $35

We do allow you to transfer your deposit to one of our other camps in the same calendar year ONLY.  Please email Kim Kern at krkern@ncsu.edu for assistance with this.

There will be a certified Athletic Trainer at all camps and clinics run by Focus Goalkeeping Academy.

All sessions, camps, and clinics are open to parents, guardians and coaches to visit.  Coaches are encouraged to call ahead.

All camps, a subsidiary of Focus Goalkeeping Academy, LLC is neither owned, operated or sponsored by NC State University and is open to any and all entrants in accordance with the specified age and gender for the appropriate camp.

If we have to leave the field or cut a session short due to dangerous weather in the area, we will operate under the following policies:

• If we get in more than 30 minutes of the session (half), then the session will count as completed.
• If we get in less than 30 minutes of the session, we will not charge anyone (or will return payment for anyone who paid).
